Start with the environment, risk and required outcome.

A senior-led assessment of your Hyperion applications, infrastructure, integrations and operating practices—with a practical, prioritised improvement roadmap. Namandla Consultants begins with evidence and recommends a proportionate engagement rather than a generic technology package.

WHAT WE ASSESS

Four dimensions, assessed separately

Application health. Metadata structure and growth, rule logic and performance, consolidation or calculation paths, data integrity, journal and workflow configuration, and where the design has drifted from current requirement.

Technical health. Infrastructure sizing, relational database health, audit table growth, cache configuration, patching position, WebLogic and application tier configuration, and performance measured rather than estimated.

Operational health. Backup and tested recovery, security model and provisioning, change control between environments, monitoring and the presence or absence of a test instance.

Process health. Close or planning cycle timing, manual steps, undocumented dependencies, key-person concentration and the reconciliation effort the process currently absorbs.

The four are separated deliberately. An environment can be technically healthy and operationally fragile, and reporting a single overall score would hide exactly the finding that matters.

A prioritised findings register. Each item carries severity, root cause, recommended action, estimated effort and what specifically improves if it is addressed.

Items where the honest recommendation is to leave things alone are recorded as such. A health check that finds twenty urgent problems in every environment is a sales instrument rather than an assessment, and it is worth asking anyone offering one how often they report that a client is in good shape.

The register is written so that your team can execute it independently. That is deliberate. If the work is straightforward and you have the capacity, you should do it yourselves.

  1. Scope. Which applications and environments, and what question you most want answered.
  2. Read-only assessment. Nothing changes. We gather configuration, statistics, logs and timings, and we interview the people who run the process.
  3. Analysis. Findings established against evidence rather than against a checklist of things that are usually wrong.
  4. Report and walkthrough. The register, plus a session with your team to work through it.
  5. Optional execution. Individually scoped and separately approved.

QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Questions answered

Can the health check be performed remotely?

Yes. Scope, access and security arrangements are agreed before work begins.

Does it require access to financial data?

The required access depends on scope. Namandla uses the minimum access necessary and agrees data-handling boundaries in advance.

Can you assess a system you did not implement?

Yes. Inherited and poorly documented environments are a common reason to conduct an independent health check.

What happens after the assessment?

You can implement the roadmap internally, engage Namandla for selected actions or use it to support a broader platform decision.

Can Oracle Hyperion Support help during critical finance cycles?

Yes, where the application is properly designed, integrated, governed and supported. Suitability should be confirmed through the organisation’s requirements, environment, risks, users, data and expected operational value.

Can Oracle Hyperion Support improve configuration and processing efficiency?

Yes, where the application is properly designed, integrated, governed and supported. Suitability should be confirmed through the organisation’s requirements, environment, risks, users, data and expected operational value.

What is an Oracle Hyperion health check?

A structured assessment of an EPM environment across application, technical, operational and process health, producing a prioritised register of findings with root cause, effort and expected gain against each.

It is diagnostic rather than remedial. The objective is an accurate picture of the environment’s condition and the risks it carries, so that any subsequent decision, including a platform decision, rests on evidence.

How long does it take?

Typically a few weeks depending on the number of applications and how much documentation already exists. Environments with no current documentation take longer, because establishing what exists is part of the work.

Do you need production access?

Read-only access is sufficient for most of the assessment. Where deeper investigation is needed we work against a copy. We do not make changes during a health check.

What if you find nothing significant?

Then we report that, and you have an independent confirmation that your environment is sound. That is a legitimate and useful outcome, particularly if you are being told otherwise by someone with a product to sell.

Do we have to use you for the remediation?

No. The register is written to be executed by your own team. Where you want us to do the work it is scoped and approved item by item.
