Oracle Hyperion Support and Managed EPM Services
Oracle Hyperion support should protect the close, reduce recurring incidents and build knowledge of the environment before a critical failure occurs. Namandla provides senior-led managed support across HFM, Planning, Essbase, FDMEE, ODI, Financial Reporting and Smart View.
Discuss this requirement →Start with the environment, risk and required outcome.
Support can include incident resolution, close-period cover, administration, preventive maintenance, performance improvement, documentation and controlled change. The scope is built around the applications, integrations and response commitments the organisation actually needs.
Connected expertise for the wider environment.
Incident support
Diagnosis and resolution for functional, technical and integration issues.
Close-period support
Additional focus around critical reporting, consolidation and planning windows.
Administration
Routine application, security, metadata, rules and user-support requests.
Proactive monitoring
Trend recurring issues and surface risk before it becomes disruption.
Continuous improvement
Optimisation, documentation and small changes delivered through a controlled backlog.
Knowledge resilience
Runbooks, environment records and internal capability development.
Clear steps. Visible decisions.
Oracle Applications Support for Connected Finance Systems
Hyperion rarely operates in isolation. Consolidation, planning and reporting depend on source applications, integrations, scheduled processes and the teams responsible for the wider Oracle environment. When an issue crosses that boundary, treating it as a Hyperion-only incident can leave the underlying cause unresolved.
Namandla can coordinate Oracle Applications support where the requirement connects to the Hyperion or EPM environment. Namandla leads discovery, scope, priorities and client communication, then brings in specialist delivery capability when the work extends beyond its core Hyperion expertise.
Specific products, modules, versions, access requirements and service commitments are confirmed during scoping. This gives the client one accountable route into the problem without implying that every Oracle application is covered by default.
Typical connected requirements
- Incidents affecting the movement of finance data into Hyperion or EPM.
- Reconciliation problems between an Oracle source application and the reporting environment.
- Scheduled jobs, interfaces or batch processes that fail repeatedly.
- Upgrade or change planning where application dependencies must be assessed together.
- Documentation and knowledge transfer across application and EPM support teams.
- Ongoing Oracle apps support with clear responsibilities and escalation paths.
Support that already knows your environment
The problem with generic managed services applied to EPM is the shape of the work. EPM support is not a steady stream of tickets. It is quiet for three weeks and critical for one, and the critical week is the same week for everybody.
A tiered service desk handles that badly. The first-line agent cannot diagnose a consolidation failure, so the ticket escalates, and the escalation happens during the hours when it costs the most. What finance actually needs is someone who already understands the metadata, the rules and the integrations before the incident starts.
That is the service. Not a larger team. A specialist who knows your environment.
What is included
Incident resolution. Diagnosis and resolution of application and environment faults, with an agreed response commitment.
Close and cycle cover. Enhanced attention through month-end, quarter-end, year-end and planning cycles, planned in advance against your calendar.
Administration. Metadata changes, security and provisioning, scheduled routines, environment refreshes and application maintenance.
Proactive maintenance. Audit table purging, backup verification, patching position, log review and the routine work that prevents incidents rather than resolving them.
Continuous improvement. A standing register of improvement items, worked through in quiet periods rather than deferred indefinitely.
Knowledge resilience. Documentation of your environment as it actually is, maintained as it changes.
What is not included
Stated plainly because vagueness here causes disputes later. Project work, new application builds, migrations and major upgrades are scoped separately. So is development of new functionality beyond configuration change. The support agreement covers keeping the environment running well, not building new things in it.
Scope drives price, so scope comes first.
| Variable | What it affects |
|---|---|
| Number of applications and plan types | Baseline effort |
| Metadata size and complexity | Diagnosis and change effort |
| Integration count | The largest single driver of incident volume |
| Close and planning cycle cover | Availability commitment |
| Response commitment | How the service is resourced |
| Administration included or incident only | Scope boundary |
Most arrangements begin with a health check, because scoping support for an environment nobody has assessed produces a guess rather than a quote.

Which Hyperion products can Namandla support?
Typical scope includes HFM, Planning, Essbase, FDMEE, Smart View, Financial Reporting and shared platform components. Final scope is confirmed during discovery.
Do you provide Oracle Applications support as well as Hyperion support?
Yes, where the Oracle Applications requirement connects to the Hyperion or EPM environment. Namandla remains responsible for discovery, scope and client communication, then uses specialist delivery capability when the work extends beyond its core Hyperion expertise. The exact product, module, version and service coverage are confirmed before the engagement begins.
Can you investigate an issue that crosses an Oracle application and Hyperion?
Yes. Namandla begins by mapping the data flow, scheduled processes, integrations and ownership boundaries. The objective is to identify the point of failure, assign responsibility and document the resolution.
Is every Oracle application included in managed Hyperion support?
No. Hyperion and EPM coverage is defined in the support scope. Broader Oracle Applications support is added only where the product expertise, responsibilities, access and service commitments have been confirmed in writing.
Can Namandla coordinate with our existing Oracle application provider?
Yes. Namandla can coordinate the EPM side of the investigation, share relevant evidence and maintain a clear incident record. The working model and decision rights are agreed before changes are made.
Can support begin if documentation is poor?
Yes. An onboarding or health-check phase establishes the minimum environment record and risk baseline.
What is included in Hyperion managed support?
Incident resolution, close and planning cycle cover, administration, proactive maintenance, a continuous improvement register and documentation. Project work, migrations and major upgrades are scoped separately.
The exact boundary is written into the agreement. We would rather have a specific conversation about exclusions at the start than a general one about expectations later.
How quickly do you respond?
Response commitments are agreed per arrangement against severity, and they differ inside and outside close windows because the business impact does. We commit to what we can consistently meet rather than to a number that reads well.
Ask any prospective support partner what happens when two clients have a severity-one incident during the same close week. The answer tells you more about the service than the published response time does.
Can you support alongside our internal team?
Yes, and it is a common arrangement. Your administrator handles day-to-day work and we provide the depth for complex diagnosis, close-period escalation and cover when they are unavailable.
This is often the most economical structure. It also directly addresses key-person risk, because the external party knows the environment before absence forces the issue.
Is it worth supporting Hyperion rather than migrating?
Oracle covers the Hyperion application family under Applications Unlimited with Premier Support through at least 2037, and states plainly that there are no forced migrations. Supporting a platform with that horizon is a reasonable commercial decision, not a holding pattern.
We would still rather you made that decision on evidence than on our word for it. If a platform change is genuinely the right answer we will say so. See Remain, Optimise or Migrate.
Two qualifications we state up front. Applications Unlimited protects the product family rather than every release, so 11.1.2.4 sits outside it. And Essbase now runs on its own product line with separate support dates, so confirm that component independently.
Can you take over from our current provider?
Yes. Transition runs as a defined project: environment documentation, access, integration inventory, open incident handover, close calendar alignment and a parallel period before we carry sole responsibility.
You do not need to end an existing arrangement before we assess the environment. A health check runs perfectly well alongside an incumbent and gives you an independent view either way.
What does it cost?
It depends on scope, and we establish scope before quoting. What we commit to is that the scope is written down, the exclusions are written down and you are not billed for work you did not approve.
